Designer discounts

If you have followed this blog for a while you will know that I love a designer bargain. Actually, I am using the word 'Bargain' in its loosest possible term. What I should say is half price or less because even at half price some of these items can hardly be described as bargains.

Here are my favourite online shops.

Flannels Fashion

The clearance section of this website is vast and absolutely brilliant.

Gucci Slouch Boot £695 £295

Gucci luxe court £395 £195

Miu Miu boots £525 £195

Charlotte Olympia platform shoe boot £625 £250

Galliano kimono sleeve dress £740 £350

Temperley lace insert dress £765 £395

Next up is Cocosa.com

This is a members only sale website but anyone can join.

There are excellent sales on here and I have seen Alexander McQueen bags going for under £200. When a sale opens you had better get in quick because it sells out almost immediately. Also check delivery dates because sometimes there is quite a wait due to shipping from abroad.

I also check out CatfishWomen for deals on Vivienne Westwood, Anglomania, Sonia Rykiel, Diesel and McQ

The Vivienne Westwood site can also be excellent when there is a sale on.

In the past I have bought from all these sites but not regularly as although they are 'bargains' they are still a lot of money.

Elizabeth Arden Masterclasses

Nic and I will be teaching masterclasses and doing a bit of backstage filming at London Fashion Weekend this Saturday 25th September at the Elizabeth Arden Beauty Studio in the catwalk tent.

The classes are trend based and 30 minutes long. The times are 11.30am & 2.15pm.

So if you are attending LFWE; come in and say Hi.

If you have not heard of London Fashion Weekend check it out here

We cannot wait for this event but we have the difficult decision of what to wear. On one hand we want to look good but on the other hand we need to be practical and think about being on our feet all day.  Hmmm... choices, choices.

Corinne Day 1965 - August 28, 2010

Corinne Day was arguably one of the most influential photographers of the 90s.

Working with a young Kate Moss on a fashion story for The Face magazine titled 'The 3rd Summer of Love,' which was published in July 1990 and later (1993) on the British Vogue cover story (opposite) the images would define the 'Waif' look and spark the 'Heroin chic' movement.

The imperfect and voyeuristic feel of the images that Corinne Day produced were in stark contrast to the perfectly made up supermodels and photography of the time, paving the way for the documentary style photography that became synonymous with the late nineties and beyond.
